Then emerged with the fusion of the folkloric music of Southern Spain with the music created by the gypsies. HOW TO DANCE FLAMENCO?
Flamenco dance is performed solo, such as cante (the definition used for Flamenco songs), or as an unprepared duet. It is not a group dance.
The dance moves must be paired in the same rhythm as the cante.
Performance Flamenco has a different technique that requires more effort and care. Flamenco dance figures consist of 3 parts in total.
These are body, arms, hands and feet.
It is important that the person performing the dance has a well-developed upper body, an advanced arm structure and technique. Foot movements are also added to these body and arm movements. The feet are hit hard on the ground and a sound is made. Since Flamenco is a rhythm-based dance, foot movements have particular importance. There are 3 basic foot movements in Flamenco: Toe, heel and full sole. Many combination moves can be made with these 3 basic moves.
Hand, arm and wrist movements are very important for Female dancers. Wrists are used without moving the arms. These hand gestures are similar to belly dance. When the feet are engaged, the hands should be kept as steady as possible. The arms must be in classical ballet form. Shoulders should be low, waist and diaphragm should stay inside.
Basic Flamenco postures are quite different from other dances. The upper body and head are always upright, the shoulders are down and back, legs are slightly bent. The arms should be lifted upwards with gentle movements until they reach above the shoulder.
The most important point is the harmony of the movements with the music. The moves must be combined with the music to add spirit to the dance. For female dancers, the costume has an important effect on the overall dance. It is another important issue for the dancer to easily control her clothes and to be able to make his movements easily.
