WHAT ARE THE SALSA STYLES?
If you are going to a Salsa course, it would be good to know which styles to learn. Let's examine briefly which salsa styles are available. The most common styles are;

• Puerto Rican Style: In the Puerto Rican Style the feet movements are dominant, the dance is based on the first or second beat.
• Los Angeles Style: The Los Angeles style, influenced by the Puerto Rican style, is based on the principle of starting the dance on the first beat of the music. Additionally, it includes acrobatic figures of swing dance. It is a style with slightly sharper moves.
• New York Style: In the New York style, also known as Mambo On-Two, foot movements are important and the dance begins on the second beat of the music. It is a style with flow.

Compared to New York and Los Angeles Salsa styles, it is a style dominated by men. The biggest difference from other styles is it is not danced on a line, but a freer style based on more circular movements.
• Casino Rueda: Casino Rueda usually has faster music, danced on a group. Basically everyone dances in a circle in pairs. The figures are made with the commands of one person in the team and while the figures are made, the couples are changed and everyone dances with each other. Visually it is very fun to watch.

SALSA COURSE TIME - PROGRAMME
